ENDED IN DEATH
--------------
By Giving Life Mrs. Elmer Abel
Sacrifices Her Own.

Mrs. Elmer Abel died at her home in
this city a few minutes after 7 o'clock
yesterday morning, April 23, 1900.
About two weeks ago Mrs. Abel gave
birth to a child. Serious complications
set in and for a number of days she
hovered between life and death. Then
for a few days her condition improved
and there was some hope her
recovery, but her strength would not
hold out and the final summons came.
The deceased was 26 years and 1
month of age. She was the daughter
of Mr and Mrs. R. J. Smyth and was
born in Cherokee. She died on the
same street and near the same house
in which she was born. As Nellie
Smyth and as the wife of a devoted
husband she was loved and admired by
all who knew her, The grief of busband,
parents, brother and sister
knows no bounds, and the sympathy
of all goes out in abundant measure to
these breaking hearts.
The funeral will take place this
afternoon at 2 o'clock, the service being
held at the Congregational church,
conducted by Rev Dr. Ferris, and the
remains will be laid to rest in Oak
Hill cemetery
