Mrs. Roy A. Sleezer (1893-1971)

Mrs. Roy A. (Mary) Sleezer, 77, died at 1 a.m. Tuesday at Gregg Hilltop Nursing Home following a long illness. She had lived in the Cherokee area almost all of her life.

Born on Aug. 13, 1893 at Tilghmanton, Md., she married Roy A. Sleezer on June 6, 1917 in Cherokee. She was a member of First Church of Christ in Cherokee.

Survivors are one son, Arthur of Cherokee; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gilbert (Gladys) Sleezer of Cherokee; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Shaw of San Antonio, Tex. And Mrs. Nora Steward of Morrisville, Penn.; and one brother, Arthur Mongan of Cherokee.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband on Feb. 23, 1954, a son, Gilbert on April 26, 1969 and several brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Boothby Funeral Home with Curtis E. Reynolds, pastor of First Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
