I am not sure what paper this ran in. It has a hand written date on the bottom of it that is 8-8-1895

Obituary
W. P. Barnes of this city, died at
his home in the Addition Wednesday
morning at the age of 73 years. He
had been a sufferer from nerve failure
for about five years. The funeral
was held at the M. E. church, of
which society, he had been a faithful
and consistent member since early
manhood, at Quimby, this (Thursday)
morning, Rev. Ferris conducting the
service. The body will be buried in
Potter Cemetery in Silver township.
Mr. Barnes was born in Louisville,
Ky, July 7th, 1822; at the age of two
years, he moved with his parents to
St. Clair, Ill. In 1841 he married
Jane Wright. Eight children were
born to them, five boys and three
girls. Six children, Survive him, three
sons and three daughters, one of the
former, Henry, living in this city. In
1844 Mr. Barnes removed to Elk
Grove, Wis. Sometime after he
returned to Illinois, where his wife died
in 1864. Returning, again to Wiscon-
sin, he was married to Emeline
Hacket in 1866, one daughter being
born of this union. In 1879 he came
to Iowa, locating in Fayette county.
From there he moved to Silver twp.
this county in 1889, shortly after lo-
cating in Cherokee where he has
since lived.
