Leslie J. Full, 80, of Cleghorn, Iowa died Thursday August 20 2009 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center, Cherokee, Iowa, following a lengthy illness
Funeral services will be held Monday August 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee, Iowa. Msgr. Kenneth A. Seifried will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Granville, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee, Iowa. Leslie was born December 7, 1928 in Granville, Iowa to Clemens and Gertrude (Byrnes) Full. He attended school in Granville and Hospers, Iowa, graduating from Hospers High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. In 1953 he married Shirley M. Cloos at the Cathedral Church in Sioux City, Iowa. They moved to Cleghorn in 1956, where Leslie worked as a farm hand and tractor mechanic for I.H. Bushlows in Cherokee, Iowa. He retired from Bushlows in 1988. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee, Iowa. Leslie enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, traveling, working with his hands, helping others, and making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife; children, Pamela Morrow, and her husband, Dan, of Cherokee, Iowa; Douglas Full, and his wife, Rebecca, of Belmond, Iowa; Bruce Full, of Sgt. Bluff, Iowa; Teresa Larsen, and her husband, Earl, of Omaha, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Dr. Clemens Full, and his wife, Kay, of Iowa City, Iowa; Lloyd Full, and his wife, Donna, of Sioux City, Iowa; Alan Full, and his wife, Barb, of Beloit, Wisconsin; sisters, Audrey Arnold, of Winnebago, Illinois; Anita Gaswint, and her husband, Roger, of Sioux City, Iowa; Sandra Bombard, and her husband, Ron, of Gunnison, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother (Kenneth) sisters, (Joyce, Mary Ellen, Clarice) granddaughter (Heidi Full) a brother in law (Paul Arnold) daughter in granddaughter (Heidi Full) law (Amy Full).
