Linda S. (Slota) Hembree, 61, of Broken Arrow, Okla., formerly of Washta, went home to her Lord and Savior on Nov. 19, 2008 after a short bout with cancer. Linda has donated her earthly body for cancer research. Memorial services were held on Friday, Nov. 21 in Tulsa, Okla, and there was also a Memorial Service on Dec. 19 at St Michael's Catholic Church in Kingsley, with Rev. Mark Stoll officiating.

Linda was born Sept.17, 1947 at home in Washta, to Walter and Sylvesta Slota. She graduated from Willow High School in Quimby, in 1965, and also graduated from the Minnesota Medical Institute. She served 37 years as a medical lab technician at St Francis Health System in Tulsa, Okla. where she was presented the first ever Award of Excellence and Employee of the Year in 2003.

Over the years, Linda enjoyed vacations and retirement years traveling with her best friend, her husband Ray. They enjoyed RV traveling & trail riding in the Rocky Mountain range of the United States & Canada, while meeting new friends along the way.

Linda is survived by her husband, Ray Hembree of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sons, Brian Morgan and his wife, Sherri, of Justin, Texas and Kevin Morgan of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren, Kristan and Makenzy; her parents, Walter and Sylvesta Slota of Washta; and eight brothers and sisters: Garry Slota and wife, JoEllen, of Spencer, Larry Slota and wife, Barb, of Spencer, Marcia Wych of Des Moines, Terry Slota and wife, Roberta, of Kingsley, Perry Slota and wife, Barb, of Washta, Jerry Slota and wife, Judy, of Washta, Kerry Slota and wife, Merrilee, of Foley, Ala., Dr. Karen Slota of Plymouth, Mich.; special friends Laura and "Little Adam" Roberts; and many other relatives and friends.

Linda requested that any donations be made in her name to Saint Francis Hospice, 6600 S Yale Ave, Suite 350, Tulsa, OK 74136.
