Larry D. Robinson, 69, of Cherokee passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

The body was cremated. Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.

Larry was born Feb. 9, 1939, in Cherokee, the son of Harry and Flossie (Parcel) Robinson. He graduated from Washington High School in 1958. He was a 1963 graduate from Morningside College in Sioux City with majors in business administration and mathematics. He was employed in the state office of the USDA and the Farmers Home Administration in Champaign, Ill., from January 1966 until his retirement in December 1984. Upon his retirement, he sold his home and returned to Cherokee.

He was active with United Cerebral Palsy, serving on the state board of directors as well as president of the local board of directors. He served on the board of directors of the Development Service Center. He enjoyed reading, current events and playing cards either live or on computer.

He is survived by two brothers, Lloyd Robinson of Meriden, Iowa, and Raymond Robinson of Renton, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ronald, Bernard, Harry and Loren Robinson; and three sisters, Gladys Sleezer, Sally Pearson and Nina Heithus.
