Emma Wollman

Emma Wollman, 70, of Cherokee, Iowa, died Sunday March 23, 2008, at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. Greenwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.greenwoodfuneral.com.

Memorials are requested to the family which will be given to the Myelodysplastic Syndrome Foundation.

Emma was born on June 9, 1937 in Scotland, South Dakota to John and Barbara (Tschetter) Wipf. She was educated in Scotland. On September 22, 1956 she married Paul Wollman in Tabor, South Dakota. She was a nurse’s aide at Countryside Estates for 28 years. Emma loved and lived for her family. She enjoyed camping with Paul and their children, and also spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, crocheting, knitting, and embroidering. Emma enjoyed reading her bible daily.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; a son, Paul Wollman Jr. and his companion, Suzy, of Merrill, Iowa; four daughters, Margy Bolinger of Larrabee, Iowa; Darlene Morris of Larrabee, Iowa; Barbara Miller and her husband, Richard, of Sutherland, Iowa; Kathy Peterson and her husband, Robert, of Cherokee, Iowa; 13 grandchildren, Jason, Tony, Travis, Amanda, Jonathan, Joseph, Richelle, Joshua, Zachariah, Daniel, Emma, Jessika, and Rebecca; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Charlese, Jonas, and Aidan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara Wipf, and 12 siblings.
