From the Waukon Standard April 20, 1898:

GOODRICH – At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Daniel PHELAN, at Cherokee, Iowa, April 8th, Mrs. L. W. GOODRICH, aged 69 years.

She with her husband came to Allamakee Co., in 1851 settling on a farm in Ludlow township and remained there until 1890 when they moved to Cherokee, where they have since resided. Her husband and four children, two sons, a daughter at Cherokee, and Mrs. John BARTON of Waukon, are left to mourn her loss. Mrs. GOODRICH was greatly loved by all who knew her, a tender, kind, helpful friend and a faithful member of the Congregational church. Hers was a life full of good deeds.
