Joseph F. Rupp, 66, of Cherokee, passed away Friday, Feb. 01, 2008 in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center.

There was a time of sharing for family and friends on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.

Joe was born Dec. 30, 1941 in Cherokee, to Joseph John and Beulah (Pelton) Rupp. He attended Cherokee Schools. He was married to Mary Schmelzer on Dec. 1, 1962. He was married to Mary Haslam in 1972. He was married to Suzanne Grienke on July 5, 1991 in Cherokee. He was known by his family and friends as "Papa Joe." He had worked in manufacturing, had been a truck driver and also worked construction, retiring in 2000 due to health conditions. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, cooking chili and making his own salsa, hunting and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ronnie Rupp.

He is survived by his wife Suzanne, and six children: Wendi Smith and her husband Jeff of Tipton; Terry Oroszi and Scott of Miamisburg, Ohio; Brandi Rupp of Morrison, Ill.; Joe Rupp Weins and his wife Heidi of Woodland, Calif.; Bill Glieck and his fiancé Diana Broyles of Cherokee; Megan Booher of Cherokee; 12 grandchildren and one sister: Sonya Dyste.
