Funeral services for Charles Ford, 94, of Loveland, Colorado formerly of Aurelia were held at 10:30 Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia with Pastor Kathy Kluis officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Aurelia.

Charles Ford was born October 16, 1911 at the Storm Lake farm home in Sac County, Iowa, to Hugh Harris and Martha Jane (Crowley) Ford. He attended and graduated from the Hayes School.

Charles played baseball with the Storm Lake White Caps. He was involved in farming on the family farm as a very young man.

On January 26, 1935, Charles was united in marriage to Marian Mandeville in Ida Grove, Together they farmed and raised their children on farms near Alta and Aurelia, Iowa.

In 1970 Charles and Marian moved west to Loveland, Colorado. He was in maintenance with the Loveland school system before his retirement. For many years they enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. Marian passed away on March 22, 2004.

On Wednesday April 23, 2006, Charles passed away at home and was transferred to life eternal with Jesus. Awaiting him there are his precious wife Marian, his parents, Hugh and Martha Ford; his brothers, Leslie, Clarence and Donald, his sisters baby Lenora, Margaret Rix and Mariann Keitges.

Left here to mourn their loss but celebrate Charles' life of example are his and Marian's children: Dennis Ford of Sioux Falls, SD; Charles and his wife Lynette Ford of Loveland, CO;David and his wife Margaret Ford of Dalton, MN; Ann and her husband Robert Peterson of Aurelia, Ia; Bonnie and her husband Don Steffens of Waukon,CO; Marilyn and her husband Fred Oleson of Brown Deer, WI; 21 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Margaret Mandeville of Grand Junction, and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
