Ruth Decker, 62, 0f 5080 T Ave. , Cherokee died yesterday at home, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee. Pastor Donald McCollam will officiate. Burial will be in the Afton Township Cemetery , Rural Cherokee. Ruth was born Oct. 3, 1931 in Swea City, Ia, to William and Lydia (Grandgeorge )Sanders. She attended school in Seneca, Iowa and graduated in 1948. On Nov. 27th she married Harold Decker in Canton S.D.. They moved to Cherokee in 1965. Ruth had previously managed the Cherokee Country Club , worked at Hope's Fashion Farm , and worked for Mid-Sioux Opportunities. She was also recognized as the lady who sold vegetables at the Cherokee Country Store. Ruth was a member of the V.F.W. Aux. and Breath Of Life Assembly Of God Church, and president of the Afton Womans Club.

Survivors include her husband; 3 daughters, Mrs Judy Clausssen and her husband Lawrence, of Alta, Mrs. Becky Noblitt and her husband Kenneth; Mrs. Jane Jaminett and her husband Larry, Mrs. Honour Hope McCollam and her husband Ryan all of Cherokee, 3 sons, William Decker and his fiancee, Barb Wren, Michael Decker , and his wife Julie; ; Brian Decker and his wife Valerie, all of Cherokee; 20 grandchildren , 2 brothers , Ray Sanders ,of Armstrong, and Roger Sanders of Fairmont MN. 2 sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Loaft and her husband Phil of Mankato and Mrs. Helen Geerdes and her husband Donald of Swea City. She was proceeded in death by her parents; 1 son Nicki; a daughter-in-law , Sharon Decker, and 2 brothers, Marvin and Bob
