KING, KIRKHAM, JOHANNES, GALLAGHER, RAINEKE

Dixie (Kirkham) King, 80, died peacefully and painlessly on Feb. 23, 2007 at the Israel Hospice in Ames, after several months of treatment for cancer. A memorial service will be held at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, Minn. on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 2 p.m.

She was born in Holstein, on May 18, 1926. She was the daughter of Harry and Marie Kirkham who operated the Salsberry Studio in Cherokee while Phil Salsberry was in the military. She was a graduate of Wilson High School in Cherokee.

She married Charles King, also a resident of Cherokee, at Macon, Ga. in 1944 while King was serving our country in WWII. They lived in Fairmont, Minn. after the war and retired to Arizona.

She is survived by her husband Charles, daughters, Sharon (Michael) Johannes, Susan (Thomas) Gallagher and son-in-law, Jim Raineke. She has six grandchildren and three Great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Brother Douglas and daughter Sandra.
