Clayoma Blanche (Leeds) Bacon, 79, St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Cleghorn, died on Oct. 19, 2006. Services were Oct. 23 at First Church of the Nazarene in St. Joseph. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation was Oct. 22 at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family received friends and wellwishers.
She was married to Daryl Bacon, who preceded her in death. Bacon was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was dedicated to Jesus Christ and his call on her life. She shared her faith with many by teaching, leading and mentoring. She spent her life taking care of others and volunteered at Church of the Nazarene, Calvin Center, Danford Hall and Salvation Army. She was employed with the St. Joseph State Hospital for 30 years before her retirement.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers and two sisters. Bacon is survived by four daughters, Charlene and Mark Barnes, Atchison, Kan. Carolyn and Richard Nigh, Sharon Bacon, and Darlene and Danny Klepees, all of St. Joseph, Mo.; one sister, Carrie Clark, four brothers, including Lewis Leeds of Cherokee; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
