Mildred Kerns Anderson was born July 21, 1912 to Clara Pearl (Cipperly) and James Kerns on a farm, in Silver Township, near Quimby Ia. She attended a country school and the Quimby High School, graduating in 1929. After attending summer school at Buena Vista College, she taught the Silver # 9 country school, Woodbury and Rock Township schools. After this experience, she graduated from Beauty School in Omaha. Finishing there, she started a beauty shop in Aurelia.
In 1936 she married Arthur Fraser Jr. They had 1 son, Dr Alex Fraser, presently living in Escondido, Calif.Mildred married Walter Anderson on June 24, 1949. They had 1 daughter, Clariss Jane, who was killed in an auto accident on Dec. 16, 1977.
The Church meant a great deal to Mildred, Everyone was aware of this when she made the extreame effort to attend her last service while she was briefly at home in Nov.
She will long be remembered by many young women in Aurelia for her work as a 4-H Leader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Mable Eby,her husband and daughter.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Alex Fraser and his wife Martha, Escondido; 2 brothers Elery Kerns, Quimby and Dale Kerns, Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Nina Crouch, Middletown Ky; Della Brandt, Quimby; Marjorie Small of Aurelia and grand-children Stephen and Sarah.
