Mary Sanborn, daughter of Conrad and Sarah Mummert, was born May 12, 1871 in Astoria Ill. and died Oct. 21, 1964 in Cherokee Ia. at the age of 93 years following a brief illness.
She was married to Frank Sanborn on Feb. 21, 1893. They were the parents of 7 children.
She was a member of Rebekah Lodge for over 10 years and was also a member of Womans Relief Corps and Needle and I Club.
Five daughters survive. They are Mrs. Vern (Ruby) Lane, and Mrs. Ray ( Ruth) Strivers. of Cherokee; Mrs. Raymond ( Jennie) Wachtler nad Mrs. Glen (Leta) Blizzard Both of Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. Oscar (Carrie) Lewis, Storm Lake. Also surviving are 2 grand-children, 5 great grand-children and 1 great great grandchildren and 2 sisters. Mrs. Ella Stockburger and Mrs. Caroline Lewis, of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, her husband Frank in 1947 and another son Leon in 1951, and 3 brothers, Frank, Will, and Cooney Mummert.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 28 from Boothby Funeral Home . Officiating clergyman was Rev. Victor V. Schuldt of St. Paul's Methodist Church.
Buriel was in Oak Hill Cemetery.Pallbearers were, Harry DeBolt, Lester Melton, Charles Pettengill, Harold Mann, Frank Duccommun, and Ernest Randall
