Donald E. "Dutch" Riedemann, 79, of Grand Meadow, Minn., died Sept. 4, 2006, at his home.

Services were 1 p.m., Sept. 8, at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church, with Rev. Gail Klavetter officiating. Burial is in the Grand Meadow Cemetery.

Donald Earnest Riedemann was born Sept. 17, 1926, in Marcus. He attended school in Paullina and was in the National Guard for many years. On Nov. 16, 1951, he married Eleanor Nielsen in Marathon, Iowa.

He farmed for many years and worked as a carpenter in Grand Meadow. He was a volunteer driver for the Mower County Senior Transportation and Cancer Society and was active in the food shelf.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald L. "Donnie" and his wife Mary of Chatfield, Minn., Dennis "Denny" and his wife Vicki of Brownsdale, Minn., and Dana and his wife Tracy of LeRoy, Minn.; two daughters, Donna and her husband Mike Fenton of Grand Meadow, and Denise Riedemann and her husband Dan Loehr of Rochester, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Bernice Splittgerber of Wyoming and Mildred Steenhoven of South Dakota; and a brother, Burnell and his wife Phyllis of Iowa. He was preceded in death by a son, a sister and a brother.
