James H. 'Jim' Clark

QUIMBY, Iowa -- James H. "Jim" Clark, 51, of Quimby, Iowa, formerly of Minnetonka, Minn., died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, in the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee, Iowa, following a long illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Quimby United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Carolyn Hollar officiating. Burial will be in Quimby Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Lyle Barnes Post of the American Legion. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Jim was born Nov. 23, 1953, in Cherokee to Robert G. and Marie (McCoy) Clark. He graduated from Willow High School in 1972. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1972 until 1975. He attended Brown College in Minneapolis for two years. He had worked for several companies in the Minneapolis area including Tricord, CPT, Zetaco and Jostin Learning as an international sales support staff until retiring in December of 1998, due to his declining health.

Following his retirement, he moved back to Quimby. Jim enjoyed going fishing.

Survivors include his mother, Marie Clark of Quimby; and a brother, Jeffrey Clark of Excelsior, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Clark, in 1991; and a brother, William “Bill” Clark, in 1998.
