John H. Harrison, 66, of Okoboji, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Schuchert Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.

John was born Aug. 17, 1940, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Wayne and Elna Harrison. He graduated from Cherokee High School in 1958. He went on to further his education, graduating from Buena Vista College.

He married Jane Sullivan on Dec. 28, 1968, in Elk Point, S.D. He served his country in the U.S. Air Guard in Sioux City for 30 years.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed boating and deep sea fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Harrison of Okoboji, Iowa; his mother, Elna Harrison of Tempe, Ariz.; and a sister and her husband, Diane and Sherman Axel of Tempe, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne; and a sister, Joanne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in John's name.
