Uncle Dan Wheeler, father of Mrs. Davenport, Mrs. John Phipps and Luther Phipps, died at the residence of Mr. Davenport, four miles east of Cherokee, on Friday morning, Sept. 4, aged 88 years. He was one of the old settlers of the county. The remains were taken to Aurelia for burial.
