CARNEY-HOGAN

On Thursday morning, June 24, 1891, at 8 o’clock, Mr. Michael Carney, of Marquette, Michigan, and Miss Anna Hogan, of this city, were married at the church of the Immaculate Conception, the Rev. J.T. Saunders officiating.

The wedded couple intended to go on a wedding tour for a short while before they went to Marquette, where the groom has prepared one of the neatest homes in that city, but owing to the devastation of Tuesday’s storm they were compelled to remain in Cherokee for a short time.

Mr. Carney is one of the most prosperous and progressive young men of Marquette, and he possesses that talent and energy which always win the richest of rewards and which command for him a high respect in society.

Miss Hogan has lived here since her childhood, and has for several years been one of the most efficient teachers in the schools of Cherokee county. She is a lady of culture and refinement, and the esteem of all will accompany her to her new home.

Both of these young people were the recipients of many nice presents, and hosts of warm friends here wish for the bride and her husband, a long life fraught with happiness and prosperity.
