Cherokee Daily Times - Cherokee, Iowa, January 9, 1949

Discharged at Camp Grant, III., Jan. 5, Joseph J. Geasland, 25, of Cherokee, earned the right to wear four bronze stars on his ETO ribbon during his year and a half overseas. He was a PFC in the glider infantry at the time of his discharge, which came after more than two years in the Army. He participated in the Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns.
