SABUS SERVICES TO BE FRIDAY

Rites to be held at church at Rockwell

Funeral services for John Sabus, 20, who died at a local hospital Wednesday from injuries received in an accident Sunday near Sheffield, will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell, Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock, with Father Bohrer officiating.

Burial will be at the [Sacred Heart] Catholic Cemetery at Rockwell.

Sabus was born at Sioux City, July 12 1925, the son of Mr. & Mrs. John Sabus. He moved to Sheffield with his parents 4 years ago. He is a graduate of the Sheffield High School in the class of 1943.

He entered the Navy in September, 1943, and was discharged April 14. Surviving are his parents, a sister Kathryn, and a grandmother, Mrs. G.A. Laughton (sic, Lawton).

His was the second fatality of the accident.

Funeral services for Elaine Leskowski, 19, Sheffield, who died Monday from injuries received in the same accident, were to be held Thursday afternoon at the Wartnaby Funeral Home at 2 p.m. and the First Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. A.S. Grarup officiating. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery, Sheffield.
