WHEREABOUTS

Sgt. David THOMAS and Air Cadet John THOMAS, sons of Mrs. Christina THOMAS, 1716 Fayette avenue southwest, were called here recently by the death of their father. Sergeant THOMAS has a 15-day furlough; his brother will return to Rosell (sic), N. Mex., this weekend. David THOMAS entered the service on Thanksgiving day before Pearl Harbor, and is now stationed at Avon Park, Fla. Cadet THOMAS entered the service June 7, 1942.

Here in Mason City

Members of the North Iowa Navy Mothers club will meet at 2:15 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Major funeral home to attend the services of Cadet John THOMAS.

JOHN C. THOMAS SERVICE HELD

Rites for Victim of Air Crash Held Here

Funeral services for Flying Cadet John C. THOMAS, 21, who was killed in a plane crash in New Mexico Friday, were held at the Major Memorial chapel Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. George O. MARSH, pastor of the Christian church, in charge.

Mrs. Glen WALLACE sang "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "Under His Wings." Mrs. Roy SERVISON accompanied.

Attending the services were members of the V. F. W., the United Service Women, the Navy Mothers and the American Legion.

Mrs. E. W. LILLEY, Mrs. G. H. ANGELL and Mrs. H. H. KENNEDY were in charge of flowers.

Pallbearers were Kenneth BRIGGS, Willis HAUNCHER, George ATKINSON, William COOPER, Ernest HUTCHINS and Louis ENTNER. The American Legion was in charge of the military service at the cemetery.

Burial was at Elmwood cemetery. The Major funeral home in charge.

WHEREABOUTS

Staff Sgt. David THOMAS has returned to Avon Park, Fla., after attending the funeral services of his brother, Lt. John C. THOMAS, who was killed in Roswell, N. Mex. Sgt. THOMAS is an instructor in airplane mechanics.

NOTE: It has not been determined if Mrs. Christina THOMAS, Lt. THOMAS' mother, lived on Taft Avenue SW or Fayette Avenue SW.
