DEATH NOTICES

ROSS, Lieut. Howard E., 23, formerly of Clear Lake and Mason City, died Thursday at Camp Shelby, MISS., of a heart attack. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church in Clear Lake. Burial will be in the family lot at Clear Lake. The Major funeral home in charge.

RITES HELD FOR LT. HOWARD ROSS
Legion in Charge of Burial Service

Funeral services for Lt. Howard ROSS, formerly of Clear Lake and Mason City, who died at Camp Shelby, Miss. on Sept. 2, of a heart attack, were held at 2:30 Thursday at the Methodist church in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Thomas B. COLLINS officiating.

Mrs. L. E. JACOBSON sang "Have Thine Own Way, Lord" and "Beautiful Words of Jesus" with Mrs. Harry MASON at the organ. Mrs. W. N. HILL and Mrs. F. A. BARBOUR took care of the flower arrangements.

Pallbearers were Lt. B. R. WILKEY, James LANE, Harold RAIZES, Max MAJOR, Willis MILLER and Otto OTTOBEN.

Burial was in the Clear Lake cemetery where military rites were conducted by the American Legion of Clear Lake. The Major funeral home had charge of the funeral.

Clear Lake Memorial Day

Clear Lake - Graves of 145 soldier dead in Clear Lake cemetery will be decorated Memorial day by members of the Women's Relief corps and chose assistants who go to the cemetery before the parade with wreaths and bouquets supplied by patriotic individuals and organizations of the city.

. . . The name of Howard Elliott ROSS has been added since last Memorial day.

Lt. Howard E. ROSS died Sept. 2, 1943, at Camp Shelby, Miss., following a heart attack. He enlisted in the army Aug. 5, 1942, and took basic training at Camp Roberts, Cal., before being transferred to Fort Sill, Okla., where he was trained in the officer's candidate school in field artillery and was commissioned in March, 1953. . .
