WHEREABOUTS

Pvt. Robert MAASS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold MAASS, 929 8th N. E., has gone to Fort Benning, Ga., following a 10-day delayed enroute furlough here. He came from Camp Roberts, Cal., where he had been stationed since entering the service last May.

MEMORIAL SERVICES SUNDAY
for PVT. MAASS at ST. JAMES

To Be Held at St. James Lutheran at 3 O'Clock

Memorial services for Pvt. Robert H. MAASS, killed in action in Walferareuth, Germany, on April 15, will be conducted at St. James Lutheran church 503 6th S. E., Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with the Rev. O. MALL, pastor of the church, in charge.

Pvt. MAASS was serving with the 66th infantry of the 3rd army and had been overseas since last Jan. 20.

Robert was born and reared at 929 8th N. E., where his parents are now living. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. James Lutheran church of which he was a member. He received his education in the Mason City schools and was a junior in high school at the time of entering the service.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold [Lena] MAASS, and a young brother, Donald, aged 8.
