Pvt. Leland Langlitz Killed on Italy Front

Meservey - Mr. and Mrs. George LANGLITZ received word that their son, Pvt. Leland LANGLITZ, was killed in action in Italy April 24. It was the first war fatality among servicemen of the Meservey area.

Pvt. LANGLITZ had been in service over a year. He was born [March 14, 1922] in Meservey and lived there all his life.

Besides his parents, he leaves a brother, Ivan, of Latimer.

Plan Memorial Rites for Meservey Soldier

Meservey - Memorial services have been set for Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Meservey Reformed church for Pvt. Leland Paul LANGHLITZ, son of Mr. and Mrs. George LANGLITZ of Meservey. The Rev. E. KAMPMANN will be in charge.

Pvt. LANGLITZ was killed in action April 24, 1944 on the Italian battlefield.

Plan Memorial Rites for Meservey Soldier

Memorial services were held at the Reformed church in Meservey for Pvt. Leland Paul LANGLITZ, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. George LANGLITZ, killed in action in Italy on April 24, with the Rev. E. KAMPAN, pastor of the church, in charge.

Pvt. LANGLITZ entered the service in February, 1943, and had been overseas since June, 1943. He received his training at Camp Sivert, Ala. His parents have received the Purple Heart for him. Pvt. LANGLITZ was in the chemical warfare service.
