KILLED IN ACTION

Mrs. Donald O. Fisher, who makes her home at Apt. 8, 12 ½ First street N. W., Mason city, received word Saturday that her husband, Pfc. Fisher, 26, had been killed in action in Germany, April 6. He was with the armored artillery, 9th army.

Pfc. Fisher, who enlisted in February, 1942, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fisher, Nashua, and one of 6 sons in service. The others are Pfc. Loyal Fisher, Pvt. Lawrence Fisher of the marines, Pfc. Lyle Fisher, Pvt. Leland Fisher, and Pvt. Mark Fisher. The Fishers have 2 other sons, Edmund and Blaine, and a daughter, Mona.

Pfc. Fisher was married Feb. 6, 1943, to Mrs. Margaret Neal Kaasa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Neal, 916 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. She retrieved a letter from him Friday written April 3. He went overseas last November and has been in England, France, Belgium and Germany. Once he wrote from a rest camp in Holland.

NOTE: Pfc. Fisher was re-interred at New Albany National Cemetery, New Albany, Indiana, Plot G, 126. Pfc. Clifford A. Flanagan shares the gravestone. ~ findagrave.com
