Name Draftees For July 8 Call In Cerro Gordo

15 Men to Comprise Largest Quota in Local Board History

Officials of draft board No. 1 Saturday announced the names of 15 draftees and one transfer who will leave here July 8 for Fort Des Moines and induction into the United States army.

The quota filling the largest call ever received here, is an answer to call No. 17. The situation is rather unusual in that draft board No. 2 received a request for no men in the same call. The situation arose through a clerical error at Des Moines which sent the entire number of men needed into draft board No. 1’s call instead of splitting it between the two boards.

The men have been ordered to report at 12:15 p. m. on July 8 at the Jefferson bus station in Mason City.

[Included} Joseph Jon Blanchet, 351, Ventura . . .
