Death, the Silent Reaper has entered the home of Engineer Charles Anderson of Mason City, and has removed from the comfortable home the beloved mother and wife. The sympathy of a loving community goes out to the bereaved family at this time of sorrow.
It was a beautiful Thanksgiving day and the same as in many other homes the family were busily engaged in getting prepared the Thanksgiving dinner feast. Mrs. Anderson was busily plying herself to the duties of preparing the dinner. At ten o'clock or a little after, she entered the kitchen to prepare a cake for the oven. As she stirred the batter for the cake she sweetly sang a favorite song, and thus the Reaper entered the home.
She fell forward and shortly after the noise of the fall brought the members of the family to her side, she peacefully passed Home to the Heavenly Father. The willing hands endeavored to restore her but the heart had failed to do the duty of its office and the efforts to save the precious life were in vain. Till death itself has entered the home one cannot be able to feel as the bereaved family feel over this very sudden demise of the beloved wife and mother.
Mrs. Anderson, formerly Miss Marie Reinow, was born in Mazomanie in Dane County, Wisconsin in 1856. Here she resided through childhood and on Feb. 3rd, 1874 was united in marriage with Charles Anderson. For many years they have made this city their home and she has gathered about her hosts of friends who are today mourning with the family.
A loving husband Charles Anderson, and two sons, Spencer and Arthur are left to mourn her, and her father Henry Reinow of Prairie du Chien, Wis., two brothers George and Arthur Reinow of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Waseca, Minn. Her sisters Mrs. J.A. Morse of Waseca, Mrs. C.W. Bean and Mrs. C.W. Bean [sic], and Mrs. Will Evans of Prairie du Chien, Mrs. J.M. Morse of Elkader and Mrs. Dr. Beyer of Guttenberg have all arrived in the city to be in attendance at the last sad rites.
The funeral services were held at the house on Sunday afternoon. Rev. C.H. Rogers of the Congregational church of which Mrs. Anderson was a faithful member, officiating. The order of Eastern Star of which she was a member had charge of the services at the cemetery and gave their sister the Star burial. The body was laid to rest in the beautiful Elmwood Necropolis. - Mason City T.H.
