Former area resident, Ralph W. Dodd, of Clearlake, California, died on March 10, 2006. He was 84.

A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, March 16, at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Clearlake. Interment was in the Lower Lake Cemetery, Lower Lake.

Ralph W. Dodd was born on May 4, 1922, in Clear Lake, Iowa. He was in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1946 and a truck driver for 27 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ralph was not only devoted to his family and close friends, but to his church as well. He will be remembered for his many talents, warm smile, great personality, sense of humor, and story-telling abilities.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Theonella (Schneider) Dodd; children, Doug, Rick, Ray, DeAnne, Becky Wheeler, Bryan and Mary Gilbert; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Myrna Schmidt of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.
