Dale E. Hurd, 67, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Meservey, died July 5, 1989, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, NE, of natural causes.

Funeral services were held July 6 at the McCurdy Funeral Chapel in Council Bluffs. The Rev. G. Eldon Haworth of Broadway Methodist Church officiated. Graveside services were held at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City.

Mr. Hurd was born May 12, 1922, in Williams, to Howard and Nellie (Manning) Hurd. He moved to Council Bluffs 23 years ago from Meservey. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

He married Judy Jensen in November 1966.

Survivors include his wife, Judy, Council Bluffs; two daughters, Donna Barker of Meservey, and Lisa Hurd of Council Bluffs; two sons, Paul and Steven, both of Council Bluffs; four sisters, Shirley Knode of Garwin; Wilma Gobeli, Meservey; Bonnie Friar, Sun City, AZ, and Charlotte Stewart, Council Bluffs; and three grandchildren.
