Mrs. M. Allen, 69, Succumbs

Arrangements for Rites Incomplete

CLEAR LAKE -- Mrs. John M. (Mary J.) Allen, 69, who made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Ed Lamson, 113 N. 3rd St., died at at Mason City hospital late Wednesday evening after an illness of several months.

Mrs. Allen was born Mary Jane Masters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Masters, in West Virginia Jan. 24, 1884. Nov. 10, 1910, she was married to Mr. Allen at Maxwell where they made their home for several hears, later moving to farms in the vicinity of Des Moines. Mr. Allen died Nov. 1, 1940.

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Allen is survived by a son, A. J. Allen, 110 7th Ave. N.; three grandchildren; a brother, John H. Masters, Springfield, Ohio, and four sisters: Mrs. Carrie Snyder, Bellevue; Mrs. Florence LeMar, Decatur, Ill.; Mrs. Iner (Katharyn) Johnson, Knoxville, and Mrs. Robert (Pansy) Hynd, Lucas.

Mrs. Allen came to Clear Lake with Mrs. Lamson in 1950 and before that had spent four summers here with her son. She was a member of the Congregational Church and Congregational Women's Fellowship.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Wilcox Funeral Home.
