Matthew John Boozell

March 8, 1969 - February 26, 2019

After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Matthew John Boozell, age 49, was called home on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL with his loving wife and soulmate at his side. He was born March 8, 1969 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Vincent William and Rosalie Ann (nee Carmody) Boozell.

He was a graduate of Mason City High School in Mason City, IA and Hennepin Technical College in Minnesota. He was a member of Community Christian Church in Plainfield, IL. Matthew cherished his time with his children, family, and friends. He enjoyed and followed all sports, especially the Chicago White Sox. He loved sampling craft beers from local breweries, fishing, reading, and traveling with his wife.

He is survived by his mother, Rosalie Boozell, wife Jennifer Boozell of Yorkville, IL, triplets Zachary, Leah & Jacob Boozell, step-children Michael Northrup, Kristina (Fiance Dylan Legg) Northrup, Kelly (Austin) Bennett, Joey Northrup, sister Katie (Michael) McKee, brother Chris (Jeanne) Boozell and nieces and nephews, Molly & John Vincent Boozell and Megan, Brandon, Nathan, Ryan, & Mary McKee.

He was preceded in death by his father Vincent and sister Mary.

A mass will be held at on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11AM at Holy Family Church, 722 North Adams, Mason City, Iowa 50401. A gathering of family and friends will follow.

A Celebration of Life will also take place in Illinois on July 7, 2019 (exact time and location to be announced).
