Word reached Mason City that Thomas Courtney, former resident of Cerro Gordo county, now sheriff of Mondak, Mont., was killed in a fight with a negro he was attempting to arrest.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born March 19, 1877 and died April 4, 1913. He is buried in Antelope Catholic Cemetery in Sheridan County, MT.
