Blew his head off.
Rockwell, July 19 —S. Amendt, a well-to-do farmer residing two and one-half miles southwest of town, committed suicide by blowing out his brains with an old musket. A couple of days ago his family, consisting of a wife and several children, left home on account of his threats to kill them, and the deceased committed the act while alone in the parlor, evidently by placing the end of the gun barrel in his mouth and discharging the weapon with his foot.
