Killed by a Landslide.
Mason City, Dec. 11.—Henry Woods and Anton Carlson, workers in the clay pit of the Mason City clay works, were killed instantly at noon yesterday by a landslide. Both men are unmarried. One of the men was twenty feet up the embankment digging into the vein of clay and the other was below at the same work, when suddenly there was a landslide and a great chunk of clay or rock struck and fractured the skull of one man and hurled the other against the pit car with such force as to fracture his skull. One man was partially covered with the debris, but the fall of the frozen earth and stones had done the work before the partial interment could add to the danger.
