Mrs. A. E. Hale Dies In Hospital
Funeral Rites to Be on Monday Morning
Mrs. Albert E. Hale, 42, wife of Dr. A.E. Hale of Mason City, died at a local hospital Friday evening, following a short illness. She had been a resident of Mason City since 1940.
Mrs. Hale was born Mary Ellen Root, Dec. 5, 1903, at Akron, Iowa. She was graduated from St. Patrick school of Akron, and later was graduated from the Illinois General hospital, Chicago, where she received her nurses training.
She specialized in anathesia at Francis hospital in Chicago, and after graduation was employed at Mother Cabrini hosptial in Chicago.
On July 8, 1930, she was married to Dr. A.E. Hale, at St. Barnaba church, Chicago. They lived at Buffalo, N.Y. a year,then moved to Dougherty in 1931, where Dr. Hale practiced medicine until 1940 when they moved to Mason City.
Surviving are her husband, 2 daughters, Mary June, 14 and Patricia Ann, 13, and a son James Patrick, 7, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Root, Ann Arbor, Mich., 6 brothers, Louis, Chicago, Dee, Paul and Ralph of Ann Arbor, Mich.,Richard of Wayne Mich, and S/Sgt. Roland of San Antone, Texas.
Mrs. Hale was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the American Legion Auxillary, and the Tabernacle Society.
The body will lie in state at the Meyer funeral home, where the Rosary will be said by the Catholic Daughters of America at 8 p.m. Saturday. The Tabernacle Society will say the Rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday. There will be a Rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday and the Knights of Columbus will say the Rosary at 9 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Joseph's Catholic church at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Joseph F. Hale, Washington, D.C., officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery. The Meyer funeral home in charge.
