LAKE VIEW --- Douglas LeRoy Church, 62, passed away on Friday (Oct. 11, 1996) at Stewart Memorial Hospital, Lake City.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Lake View with burial in the Ferguson Cemetery, Lake View. Visitation is at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. There will be Masonic services at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Douglas LeRoy Church was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Mason City to Albert and Leota (Shear) Church. He graduated from Sheldon High School then served two years in the Army. He received a BA from Yankton College, Yankton, S.D. and post graduate hours from Drake University and the University of South Dakota.

On Aug. 18, 1957, he married Carolyn Holmgren at Rapid City, S.D. They have lived in Lake View since 1973.

Douglas was employed by Farmland Insurance Company, Des Moines. He was a member of Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, of Lake View; one son, Randal and wife, Kim, of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Renese and David Callahan of Manson, and Rhonda Church of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren, Ryan and Hannah of Dallas, Texas, and Marlorie and Matthew of Manson; his mother, Leota Church, of Mason City; two brothers, Allan of Minneapolis, Minn., and Bruce of Toledo; and one sister, Susan Culhane of Omaha, Neb.
