MRS JOHN A SENNEFF DIES ON TRAIN OF HEART ATTACK

Was Enroute Home with Mr. Sennef From Trip to New Orleans, La.

Mrs John A. Senneff, Sr., a Mason City civic leader for more than 30 years, died suddenly of a heart attack Saturday on a train enroute home with Mr. Senneff from a vaction trip to New Orleans.

Mrs Sennef was taken ill on the train Feb. 5 between New Orleans and Memphis, Tenn., and at Memphis entered a hospital for a six day stay.
Seemingly sufficiently recovered, she was permitted to continue her trip home. She rested
Saturday in a Chicago hotel but boarded the train in the evening with Mr. Sennif to complete the journey home.

Soon after leaving Chicago, she suffered the heart attack and died soon after.
Mr. Senneff left the train with the body at Walworth Wis.
He was accompanied by Allan F. Beck also of Mason City, who was returning home on the same train.

Mrs Senneff is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Wright C. Percival, Des Moines; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Senneff Jr., Mason City, and four grandchildren, Michael John Percival and Suzanne, Jack and Tommy Senneff.
She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers. They are Mrs. W. L. Bliss and Miss Mary McGruder, 138 Tenth Street northwest; Dr. F.M. McGruder, Long Beach Cal., John T. McGruder,
Van Nys, Cal., and William McGruder, Houston, Tex.

A Mason City resident since her husband came here to practice law in 1911, she showed an active interest in practically all women's civic affairs.
Lately she had been practicularly active in the Women's club, the North Iowa Concert League and especially the local chapter of the American Red Cross.

She was chairman of the defense activity committee of the Red Cross established in the fall of 1941 and became chairman of the Cerro Gordo County Camp and hospital council of the Red Cross chapter here when that was formed a year later.

She was a member of the Mason City Civilian defense council and of the Mason City planning commission and numerous other organizations.

The Meyer funeral home is in charge of funeral
arrangements but no time has yet been set for the services.

Mr Sennef and Mr. Beck are expected to arrive here Monday morning with the body.
