James L. C. Folk Dead

People of this community grieved to hear of the death of James L. C. Folk at the home of his son, John Folk, death occuring at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday July 2.

The deceased was born at Harrisburg Pa. January 6, 1846.
He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Rose Lawless at Kickapoo, Ill. on November 8, 1878, later moving to Wichita, Kansas, where he was engaged in the harness business.
With his family he came to Dougherty six years ago.
The nature of his illness was cerebral hemmorage from which he suffered for the past three years, and which had enfeebled him very much in his old age, he being 72 years of age at the time of his death.

The deceased was a man very much respected by all.
He was of a jovial nature, even during his enfeebled years and always had a pleasant word for all. His passing away is a matter of deep regret, both to the grief-striken wife and children and to his many friends here.

Besides his faithful wife who had tenderly cared for him during his illness he leaves to mourn his death two daughters and one son, Mrs George Morrell of New York City, Miss Theresa Folk of Mason City, and John E. Folk of this place.
One brother preceded him in death several years ago.

The funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Church at 10 o'clock Thursday morning, July 4, and interment made in the cemetery adjacent to the church.

Card of Thanks
We wish to sincerely thank our many friends and neighbors who have shown us so many kindnesses in the death of our beloved husband and father.
Mrs. J. L. C. Folk and family
