Monday, June 10, 2018MASON CITY -- Donald P. Cahill, 70, of Mason City, died Saturday (May 26, 2018) at his home in Mason City.
A Memorial service for Don will be held at a future date.
Donald Paul Cahill was born on August 29, 1947 in Mason City, the son of Henry and Calla (Badker) Cahill. He attended Mason City High School and graduated among the class of 1964. Following his high school graduation, he attended NIACC before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.
For many years Don worked for Winnebago in Forest City as a driver, he spent the last 15 years working with Diamond Vogel Paint Store in Mason City, and in his free time enjoyed the company of his cat, Simon, as well as cheering on the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Twins, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also payed slow pitch softball with Lanco in his earlier years.
Those grateful in sharing in his life are his son, Chad, West Des Moines; grandchildren, Kristie Colombo, Albia, Nolan and Henry, and Hannah Cahill, all of Goodyear, AZ; siblings, Judy (Terry) Severson, Republic, MO, and Jim (Patricia) Cahill, Ankeny; as well as his extended family and many friends.
