J. C. Breen of Dougherty Dead (1916)
John Charles Breen a well known resident of Dougherty passed away at the Mercy Hospital at Mason City last Monday morning, July 3, at 6:30 o'clock. His death was due to paralysis of the intestines.
Mr Breen was born June 26, 1863, at Farley, Iowa.
He moved to Dougherty, Iowa, March 19, 1895, where he followed the occupation of farming.On August 30, 1898 he was united in marriage to Ellen O'Connor, of Rockwell who survives him.
Six children were born to this union, five of whom are living and are as follows, Raymond J.;
Gerald, Mabel, Francis, Connor and Margaret.Mr Breen is also survived by his mother, Mrs Ellen Breen, five brothers and two sisters, of Farley, Iowa.
He was a staunch member of the Knights of Columbus Order and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
The funeral services were held at the home at Dougherty wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Father O'Reilly. Burial was made at Dougherty.
