Dougherty G. I. Dies in Action
Memorial Will be at St. Patrick's Tuesday

Dougherty- Mr. and Mrs George Staudt received word from the war department that their son, Pfc.
Morris P. Staudt who had been missing since Nov. 17, 1944, was killed in action. He had not been heard from since early in November.

Morris entered the service Dec. 7, 1942, receiving his training in Louisiana and Texas before going overseas in June, 1944.
He was awarded the purple heart for wounds received the latter part of July.

The young man was born June 26, 1921, and was a graduate of St. Patrick's school in Dougherty in 1940.
Surviving are his parents, a sister Mary E.; and twin brothers, Donald and Donovan, and financee, Anne G. Dolan of Mason City.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Patrick's church in Dougherty under the direction of the Rev. Father Gannon and the American Legion.
