Miss O'Donnell Dies in Hospital
Services to Be on Thursday at ChurchMiss Anna Mae O'Donnell of 203 26th S.W. died at a local hospital Monday afternoon following a short illness.
She had been a resident of Mason City for 21 years and was employed as a clerk for the Jacob E. Decker and Sons Company.Miss O'Donnell was born May 3, 1900, in Dougherty, the daughter of James and Annie O'Donnell. She attended the Dougherty school and was graduated from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, in 1919.
After granduation she taught in the rural schools of Dougherty township for four years before moving to Mason City where she began her employment with the Jacob E. Decker and Sons Company.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs Hanna Tenney and Mrs Bridget King, with whom she made her home and a brother, James O'Donnell, Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Patrick, Hugh and Dominick.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and St. Joseph's Tabernacle Society of Mason City.
Solemn Requeim High Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic church.
Burial will be at St. Patrick's cemetery in Dougherty.
The body will lie in state at the King residence, 203 26th S.W., where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m., Tuesday and the parish rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Tabernacle
Society will say a rosary at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
