MASON CITY — Halcyone V. Graham, 85, formerly of 938 N. Fillmore Ave. died Monday (July 24, 2006) at the Nora Springs Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (July 27, 2006) at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., with the Rev. Glen Bandel officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph-Elmwood Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Halcyone Graham Memorial Fund.

Halcyone Vianna was born on Jan. 25, 1921, the daughter of Vinton O’Dell and Ella Ray “Misfeldt” Williams, at Afton. She was the only daughter of three children. She was a graduate of Afton High School. She lived in Waterloo and then moved to Mason City in 1945.

On June 28, 1965, she was united in marriage to Fred Graham at Sioux Falls, S.D. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. During high school, she was an all-star pitcher on the softball team. She bowled on area bowling leagues, enjoyed reading novels, finding bargains at rummage sales and traveling to Texas to visit her children. She was also an avid Hawkeyes fan.

She is survived by two daughters and a step-daughter, Shirley Jean and her husband, Maxie Arnold, of Emory Texas; Judy Ann Young, of Seagoville, Texas; Patricia and her husband, Ivan Meints, of Thornton; one son and one step-son, Larry Ivan and his wife, Sharon Carrier, of Seagoville, Texas; and Richard “Dick” and his wife, Bev Graham, of Rockford; 10 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 21 step-great-grandchildren; one surviving brother, Warren and his wife, Dorothy Williams, of Evansdale; one niece and one nephew.

Preceding her in death are her parents; three husbands, Ivan Carrier, Jerry Merris and Fred Graham, who died May 9, 1990; one brother, Donald Williams; two grandsons; and one step-grandchild.
