MASON CITY — Charles “Tom” Pinneke, 71, of 5 N. Federal Ave., died Friday (Dec. 15, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to service time at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. wake service at the funeral home following the visitation today.

Memorials may be given to the Charles “Tom” Pinneke Memorial Fund.

Charles “Tom” Pinneke was born on July 15, 1929 in Mason City, the son of Roy George and Martha Isabel (Rafferty) Pinneke. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church Schools. He was in the National Guard for 16 years and then worked at Lehigh Cement as a head repairman for 28 years before retirement in 1969. Charles was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He also ran the Mason City Flea Market for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Carole A. Pinneke, Mason City; children, Tom A. Pinneke, of St. Louis Park, Minn., Kim L. Pinneke, of Marion, Mickey Pinneke and wife, Sandy, of Tampa, Fla., Diana Casper and husband, Steve, of Sioux City, Sue Thompson and husband, Mike, of Rogers, Ark., Elizabeth Holtz and husband, Kevin, of Rudd, Molly Walgren and husband, Stuart, of Cedar Falls, Annette Marshall, of Mason City, Kathy Wentworth and husband, Craig, of Wildwood, Mo., and Mari Wise, of Mason City; two step-sons, Kenton Ewing and Gary Ewing; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and four sisters.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two sons.
