Sunday, April 25, 2004MASON CITY — Frank J. Huzl, 92, of Mason City, died Friday (April 23, 2004) at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Wayside Chapel, First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave. in Mason City, with the Rev. Jim Stiles officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services on Tuesday at the Wayside Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
Frank J. Huzel was born October 1, 1911 the son of Frank and Frances (Jecmen) Huzl in Mason City, Iowa. He attended school in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School. Frank work for Decker's for many years. He was united in marriage to Joy Heard in Mason City, Iowa. Frank was a member of the Bohemian Lodge and First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his sons; Jack E. Huzl and wife Linda of Denver, Colorado, James F. Huzl and wife Cathy of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Emily Huzl of Atlanta, Georgia, Kara Huzl of Denver, Colorado, Angie Garris of Silent Springs, Arkansas; Mike Huzl of Charlotte, North Carolina; Chad, Dustin, and Christopher Huzl all of Denver, Colorado; a great grandchild, Wyatt Garris of Silent Springs, Arkansas, and a neice, Phyllis Murphy of Mason City.
Frank was preceded in death by he parents, wife Joy in 1984, two sisters, Juliea Zemanek in 1994 and Helen Huzl in 2003, brother-in-law, Tony Zemanek in 1988, and a nephew, David Murphy in 1999.
