Eileen Marie 'Kelli' Fountas July 20, 1939 - August 15, 2017
Eileen Marie “Kelli” Fountas, 78 of Mason City, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 1311 Second Street S.W., Mason City, with Rev. Joseph Mirowski officiating.

Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, in Mason City. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church.

In lieu of customary remembrances, family suggests memorial contributions to the Kelli Fountas Memorial Fund.

Kelli was born July 20, 1939, the daughter of Irvin and Ruby (Hayhurst) Carlson in Rockford. She married Stanley Fountas on May 9, 1964, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2011.

Kelli graduated from Cambria High School and lived in Corydon, IA prior to marriage. She began working at Mutual Federal Savings and Loan in 1969, then worked at American State Bank for about 24 years from 1976-2000. She later worked at Northwood State Bank for two years prior to starting at Younkers in 2013.

Kelli was a member of the Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Mason City, volunteered at the food bank, Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels in Mason City. She was a member of Ladies Philoptochos and Daughters of Penelope of the Greek Orthodox Church. She loved the Greek culture and enjoyed volunteering at the church.

Kelli is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Larry) Lehman of Bloomington, IL; four grandchildren, Olivia, Madeleine, Aaron and Esther; a brother, Harold Carlson and his daughter, Hallie Runyan, both of Des Moines, IA; three brothers-in-law, Doug Montgomery of Oceanside, CA, James (Joyce) Fountas of Mason City, and Thomas (Bev) Fountas of Racine, WI; four sisters-in-law, Florence Larson of Clear Lake, Stella Rodemeyer of Memphis, TN, Darlene Fountas of North Liberty, IA and Mary Carlson of West Des Moines; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stan; a brother, Arvid Carlson; and a sister, Norma Montgomery.
