August 20, 2017MASON CITY -- Ruby Isabelle Bohl, 90, of Mason City, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Heritage Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 until 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com.
Ruby Isabelle (Huckins) Bohl, 90, was born September 4, 1926, to Arthur and Lydia (Graff) Huckins. She grew up in Mason City and graduated from Mason City High School. Ruby married Robert Bohl and they had six children. Ruby also raised her cousin, Ron Graff. Ruby spent her life raising children, and later worked at Mercy Hospital until her retirement. She enjoyed her home and liked to garden, read and watch old westerns. She spent much time with her grandchildren and was affectionately known to them as “Granny”.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Roberta (Michael) Cornelius; sons, Ricky (Hiroko) Bohl, Doug (Pat) Bohl, Robin (Sara) Bohl; special cousin, Ron (Mary) Graff all of Mason City; her sister, Betty Rarick of California; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Russell Bohl and Andrew Bohl; her granddaughter, Sarah Bohl; her sister, Pearl Martin and her parents.
