DeLoris F. Rowley, 86, of Mason City, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service for DeLoris will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with Pastor Kathy Graves from Trinity Lutheran Church presiding.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation with a public viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Sunday.

Should friends desire, memorials may be left to Trinity Lutheran Church in DeLoris’ memory.

DeLoris Felicia Rowley, daughter of the late Oscar and Cora (Hill) Thompson, was born and raised in Belmond, Iowa. DeLoris was united in marriage to Arald D. Rowley in 1947 and was married 51 years. She was a homemaker much of her life, which was centered in Mason City, raising three children and working as a cook in various jobs.

DeLoris was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge of Mason City and Trinity Lutheran Church. One of her joys in her later years was to participate in the foster grandparent program in the Mason City School District.

DeLoris is survived by her sons, Arald R. (Kathy) Rowley of Reno, Nev., and Jerry A. (Karen) Rowley of Bremerton, Wash.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Ver Brugge and her nephew, Bob (Judy) Ver Brugge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arald D. Rowley, and her daughter, Fonda Sue Moorhead.
